2013 is my 22nd anniversary of my very 1st workshop as a leader. I am celebrating this by returning to NE Ohio. Our last workshop in 2011 was a respunding success  with lots of great images made by all.

NE Ohio is an amazing, diverse area especially in the fall. From the grand landscape to macro images, from some of the best fall color and atmosphere anywhere, to the beautiful waterfalls, with colorful backdrops, there is a never ending amount of photographic possibilities within a relatively small area. Having lived in this area for a few years back in the mid 2000’s, and conducted many workshops there, I can attest to the abundance of photographic opportunities. From the many hours in the field, lots of good friends with photo tips, and learning the nuances of this diverse area, I have become familiar with numerous, wonderful areas to photography. We’ll be visiting these as well as some hidden gems during our time in the field.

The goal of this workshop is to not only get you into some great areas with some superb possibilities for wonderful images, but to work with you to make you better photographers. Equally as important, we’ll devote time to training in the creative aspects of photography, working on our vision, and “seeing” an image.

During the fall in this area the hardwood forests of oak and maple, offer a display of color that rivals New England. The slate bottomed streams and easily accessible locations in and around the Cuyahoga National Park (no we won’t be spending all out time in the park!) are second to none when it comes to color during this time of year. This year I am again returning to the area using the time frame I always used that produced the best results.  I went back into my catalog of images and found that these few days, historically produced the best shots.
In addition we'll visit other colorful landscape locations and spend time working in the field on the concepts needed to attain quality photographs.

This is a workshop not a tour. There will be lots of hands on teaching. This is not a tour, in which we drive from location to location. We will get to 3-4 locations per day or perhaps even less depending on light and the productivity of the location. Individual instruction is primary on my workshops.

The workshop will take place rain or shine ( We actually look for a bit of rain to enhance the already vivid colors, while rendering the tree trunks dark to even bring the color out more!)

On Wednesday, October 26th, (evening) we will meet informally to discuss itineraries and workshop goals. Friday and Saturday nights will feature image critique sessions as well as other presentations on selected subjects. Looking out our work and discussing different aspects within tan informal classroom situation is a vital part of a workshop. There will be no classroom work offered on Thursday night due to  the following big announcement.

BIG ANNOUNCEMENT:On Thursday, October 27th, we will be fortunate to be able to spend a day in the beautiful Amish country,, SW of the Cleveland-Akron area.. If We will spend 1/2 day photographing the landscape in and around Millersville and Sugar Creek, and the other 1/2 day on a real Amish farm in Sugarcreek. I have worked with my wonderful Amish friends before on past workshops. You'll get access to things most other photographers have not been able to witness, let alone capture. To cap off the day, we'll enjoy a real home cooked Amish meal ( believe me you will not go home hungry!) prepared by my Amish friends in Sugarcreek. This is a truly unique experience and one you will not forget.  I know some of you have perhaps been with me on a workshop here before and can attest to the experience.

I am offering this day with the Amish separately if you wish. If you participate ONLY ON THE DAY WITH THE AMISH on Thursday and not the balance of the weekend, there will be a charge of 125.00 per person, which includes dinner on Thursday night.

Please remember that ALL former workshop attendees (yes that’s anyone, going back to 2005 in Ohio!) are entitled to a 10% discount. In, addition you’ll all receive discounts for Nik Software, Lensbaby and Think Tank products as well as some freebies!. Three folks will win year subscriptions ot the Photograph America Newsletter. I'll also be conducting a drawing for a 500.00 gift certificate to a future Jack Graham Photography workshop anywhere within the lower 48 states.

I am keeping this workshop cost far below my normal workshops, as to offer you all an opportunity to come on out and spend 3 ½ days learning, having a great time and coming away being a better photographer at a cost, far below a usual workshop. Based on the pricing of this workshop, I as expecting a good turnout.

Again, our base of operations will be the HOLIDAY INN, I77 & Media (RT 18) Rd (near the intersection of Rt18 & I-77—about 24 miles south of the airport in Cleveland and 18 miles north of the airport in Akron) in Fair Lawn.Ohio. Fair Lawn is only about 4 1/2 hours from Buffalo ( about 235 miles) where I know many of my past attendees and good friends may be coming from.

Though there are many hotels (budget to non-budget) within 1 mile of this area, all events will take place in the Holiday Inn in Fair Lawn (I-77 &Medina Rd.).
