WORKSHOP OVERVIEW: NOTE:We will meet late in the afternoon on Wednesday, October 10th to discuss itineries, workshop goals and more.
Please consider coming to the beautiful Eastern Sierra in October 2012, to experience the majesty of the fall color and the astonishing landscape of the area. In February. We will combine lots of in the field, hands on instruction along with review and photographic development sessions that will you’re your photography to the next level, as well as produce some astounding images. Specific locations have been determined by years of experience. We’ll visit some of the well known, iconic places, as well as many places off the beaten path.
If you are a serious photographer, this is one location you’ll not want to miss.
Please contact me at Jack@jackgrahamphoto.com or by phone 503-625-1430 if you have questions. Referrals and workshop FAQ’s can be found AT WWW.JACKGRAHAMPHOTO.COM. The Eastern Sierra Photo workshop is certainly my favorite. If I had one place to photograph it would be here.
This 3 ½ day workshop will not only get you to one of the greatest scenic locations, but serve as an enjoyable instructional period. Not only will we be photographing the vistas, rock formations of the Alabama Hills, Mono Lake and the White Mountains, we’ll explore the ghost town, Bodied just north of Lee Vining and the oldest living species on the planet, the Ancient Bristlecone Pine’s in the White Mountains east of Bishop. In addition, some special remote locations are on the itinerary featuring some of the beautiful mountain streams and aspen groves, sure to be in full grandeur when we arrive. This time of the year it the prime time for fall color. Glowing aspens reflecting in sub-alpine lakes are plentiful. There’s nothing like fall in the Eastern Sierra!
The majority of instruction and nature photography tips and techniques will take place right there in the field. There’s no need to take notes. After the workshop you’ll receive a complete 60+ page syllabus containing everything we do in the field and more.
We take time in the evenings and periodically during the day to review our images in informal critique sessions. Special presentations concerning nature photography will also be made during these sessions.
My workshops are sponsored by NIK SOFTWARE, Photograph America Newsletter, Think Tank Photo Bags, Lensbaby , Hunt’s Photo and Video and the Really Right Stuff. Discounts and some freebies are included in your workshop “pack” that you’ll receive upon arrival.
Evenings will consist of informal sessions to discuss information on photographing in the area, critique sessions of your work shot during the workshop as well as general photography information.
As with all our workshops, this is primarily a field workshop. We do not sit in a classroom during the daytime. We are out shooting & learning about photography in the field, not behind a desk. However, it is critical as well as being very informative, to take time to review your work, and discuss important aspects of making quality photographs
The Eastern Sierra contains some of the most beautiful, unique areas, literally in the world. Because of its remote location, this area is not visited like many of out National Parks, thus offering great photographic experiences.
